Abstrak

This study aims to improve service learning on volleyball through Active learning, Realistic,
Innovative, Effective and Smile-Fun (ARIES) approaches to students in class X-8 SMAN 2 Palangka Raya.
This research is a classroom action research consisting of cycle I and cycle II. The research subjects were
students of class X-8 SMAN 2 Palangkaraya who collected 32 students. The data collection method used in
this research is to use observation, questionnaires, and test results of learning to serve on volleyball. The
data analysis technique used quantitative analysis.
From the research results, it is known that each cycle shows that the results of observations, questionnaires
and student learning outcomes in learning to serve on the ball always have a good improvement. The big
percentage is the increase in the initial meeting before being given action to cycle 1, an increase of 26.49%,
an increase from cycle I to cycle II of 14.04%, and an increase from the beginning to cycle II of 44.4%. This
is evidenced by the average (average) results, namely before "Aries" obtained an average of 53.17, in the
first cycle it was obtained 67.29 and in the second cycle it was obtained 76.71.
