PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PERMULAAN MELALUI MEDIA KARTU HURUF PADA SISWA KELAS 1 SDN 1 SELAT TENGAH KECAMATAN SELAT KABUPATEN KAPUAS TAHUN PELAJARAN 2022/2023

Abstrak

The main problem in this research is the low initial reading ability of class I students at SDN 1 Selat Tengah in Indonesian language subjects. One of the factors that causes students' low reading ability is that the learning process still uses conventional media, namely using a blackboard and learning is only centered on the teacher and makes students passive. The aim of the research to be achieved is to find out whether letter card media can improve the initial reading ability in class I of SDN 1 Selat Tengah, Selat District, Kapuas Regency. The variable that is the target of change in this classroom action research is improving the initial reading ability of class I elementary school students, while The action used in this research was letter card media. This Classroom Action Research was carried out in two cycles with a total of 25 students, each cycle consisting of action planning, observation and reflection. From the results of the first cycle of action, students' initial reading learning results were obtained with an average score of 69 with a student percentage of 52%. The results of the second cycle of action showed that students' initial reading learning results were obtained with an average score of 78.67 with a student percentage of 92%. Thus, it can be concluded that learning Indonesian (beginning reading) using letter card media can improve beginning reading skills in class I of SD Negeri 1 Selat Tengah, Selat District, Kapuas Regency.
