UPAYA MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MENGENAL HURUF MENGGUNAKAN MEDIA KARTU KATA DI TAMAN KANAK-KANAK BERINGIN KECAMATAN SELAT KABUPATEN KAPUAS

Abstrak

This study aims to improve the ability to recognize letters by using word cards for group B children in Beringin Kindergarten, Selat District, Kapuas Regency. Improved ability to recognize letters is to say letters, show letters, and connect letters. This research was conducted because there were problems in recognizing letters in group B. This type of research was classroom action research which was carried out collaboratively between the researcher and the class teacher.

Based on the results of the research and discussion in this study, it can be concluded that the ability to recognize letters for group B children in Beringin Kindergarten, Selat District, Kapuas Regency can be improved using word card media in the learning process of guessing the letters on word cards by means of each child carrying/ hold the word cards directly and play them according to the teacher's instructions, namely saying letters, showing letters, and connecting letters. The results showed that there was an increase in the ability to recognize letters, namely in the initial conditions of 29.2% increased in Cycle I to 58.3%, and Cycle II increased by 83.3%.
